It’s quite a few natural ladies in the south. I know more naturals than relaxed….the funny thing is, only a hand full(literally) that I know get on the internet to search for hair care info. Most of them don’t know about the many blogs that exist and very few ever heard of FOTKI. We get kinda busy down here…
There are TONS of naturals in the South! If you ever get a chance to come to Atlanta, you will see that in a lot of areas, the naturals outweigh the relaxed ladies. We have a number of hair salons that cater to natural women and we pack those salons OUT everyday, whether it’s for a trim, coil outs or straightening. I work for a fortune 500 company, and out of all of the black women on my floor, only 2 are relaxed. The dirty South is hip the the kinky, curly game.
Im gonna have to agree with Tia and Mrs. B. There are lots of naturals here in Miami…and tons of natural hair salons here too.I go to Natural Trendsetters Salon in Tamarac.

I feel like Alabama is slipping a little bit. But I got a little encouragement from all the beautiful heads of hair I saw on a recent visit to Atlanta! I will say that we are reppin a little better on my college campus this year though!
Yeah, there’s tons of naturals in NC. In my workplace, half the women (including myself) are natural.

and i definitely have to agree with the other ladies, there are most certainly A LOT of natural ladies in the south
Don’t forget about VA! There are 3 other naturals at my job and I recently went to a party about 25% were natural.
Yay! Leslie is from Tennessee! People sleep on the natural hair community in TN, especially Nashville, TN. I was at India Arie’s concert this summer & recently saw Erica Benet’s concert; the naturals were there in full force! Lol, at India’s concert we were the majority. I’ve never been to a natural hair gathering, and while I don’t have anything against relaxers, it felt GREAT to blend in! I was so amazed, bc a few years back, I had to travel elsewhere to see beautiful fros and twist outs!

Lol… I guess I was wrong then! Southern naturals aren’t scarce.
