Where do you live?
J: I live in Virginia but I REP Ghana! Right now I’m just going to school and taking care of my baby girl.
Why did you make the decision to go natural?
J: I went natural because I was fed up with having to relax my hair every month.
When and how did you transition into natural hair?
J: I did my big chop in January 2008. I stopped getting relaxers for 5-6 months, then I let my cousin cut off all the relaxed and damaged hair. Going natural has made me soo much more stronger and livelier. The only mistake I made was not going natural sooner!

What’s the best/most effective thing you do for your hair?
J: I have found that my hair is at its best when freshly washed.
What do you use in your hair?
J: I am still experimenting.
How does your hair express who you are?
J: My natural hair symbolizes where I come from.

Pretty Hair & Pretty Young Lady!
Love the ‘fro in the last picture!
Her fro is just awesome.
Gorgeous! Her hair just looks touchable. I know we really shouldn’t be putting our fingers in other people’s heads without consent but her hair looks so soft and cottony that I would probably break the rules.
@Jc… I was thinking the SAME THING. That’s an afro I would love to put my hands in. It looks so soft.
I love her hair! And I would totally ask to touch it if we ever met.
That’s a alot of growth for 7 months. Looks beautiful!!
Whaouhh her hair is INSANE!!!! OMG!!what is her routine? I wanna know more!!!Because I have the same texture
Did she say she just bc’d? three months ago? After 5-6 mos of transitioning? I need to be doing what she does lol. Great hair!
Her hair is gorgeous!
Okay, so I just asked Jill about her regimen. I’ll post her response as soon as I receive it.
I know Jill! She’s my high school buddy’s sister! Love the hair Jilly, give us a regimen oooo! Go Ghana!:)
wow her hair growth is phenomenal
Her fro looks amazing!!
Thanks for asking about her regimen because her hair is GORGEOUS, looks so soft, and so much growth for that short amount of time! Wow!
Woah! her hair must grow ridiculously quick! Gorgeous girl with gorgeous hair! Go ahead my west-african sister!
I was thinking the SAME thing as everyone else. Her hair is AWESOME but how did she get so much growth in 8 months? Genes? Secret jucies and berries? LOL Please share! ;o)
BEAUTIFUL!!!
go Ghana. super lovely hair lady.
YAY Ghana!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol
Your hair is BEAUTIFUL too!!!
Is this a wig? Don’t really see how hair would grow that much in 7 months..did she mean she BC’d in Jan. 09? Either way, it is still a good look!
So Jill just notified me that she had a typo in her interview and actually did her big chop in 2010. I corrected it in the post. Sorry for the misunderstanding!!
Rock that hair, girl! I love it. Point blank period:-D
I especially love that second to the last pic
Love it love it love it!!! Go Ghana!!
Just to help – I think Leila meant to say that the correction is – Jill did her big chop in 2008 not in 2010.
Gor-geous!!! She and her fro are out of sight!!!
So I love the cottony look of her hair – it’s beautiful. I concur that it looks irresistible to touch. It would be a problem for me b/c my hands would be in it 24/7!
As far as quick hair growth, she said got her BC in January 2008…so that would mean a little over 2 years of growth…Not saying it’s not fast, but she’s been growing it for over a year
Beautiful hair, beautiful beautiful texture! I’m calling for a regimen and/or style tutorial also, especially since so many of the tutorials we’ve seen have been girls with superdefined curls.
Hey ladies, thanks for all the love.I really appreciate it. Well the Jan 2010 was def a BIG typo,LOL. I got good hair but it aint that good.lol. Now as for my hair care regimen, hmm lets see…I usually wear my hair in twist outs. What i do is first wash it( i dont have a specific shampoo or conditioner because i am still experimenting). I shampoo once and condition twice. After washing, i towel dry my hair (i hardly ever blow dry my hair, i like it to air dry). So after i dry it i part it into 8 sections. I take one section and apply some Indian hemp hair and scalp treatment( this is what we have in my house right now but any type of hair moisturizer will do the job for me), then i comb it out and do a two strand twist. i do this to the remaining sections. so lets say in the morning when i am going out, i untwist the sections and open them up so they can be fuller. The second and third pictures are prime examples of my twist outs.well i hope this was helpful ladies. And again thanks for the Love my Beautiful sistas!!
DAMN!!!!! =]
High five for Ghana – woot woot!!…love the fullness
I have to agree with Annie! DAMN!!!!! just gorgeous hair!!!!
Lovely hair and woohoo for repping Ghana!!!!
Her hair and skin are gorgeous! Love the cotton-y texture. (She’s not the only Ghanaian I’ve seen w/ it so I guess it’s a Ghanaian thing? Maybe?)
Anyways: You look great Jill! Keep reppin’ Ghana!
her hair is AMAZING! glad to know i wasnt the only one wondering if it was a wig lol… just looks sooo soft, i’d def break the ‘no-hands-in-the-fro’ rule. that pic with the yellow sandals = perfection
